The Montreal International Jazz Festival is the largest jazz festival in the world. It is held annually in Montreal, Quebec during the summer season (usually the beginning of July) and gathers artists from around the world.

It is typically attended by over 2 million people who are attracted by the electric atmosphere, diversity of shows and by the city itself. Many parts of the city's downtown core are closed to traffic for two weeks as outdoor shows are free to the public on many stages. Attendance to some shows is over a hundred thousand.

 

The Canadian Grand Prix is a Formula One auto race held in Canada since 1967.It was first staged at Mosport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario and alternated between Mosport and Mont Tremblant, Quebec until 1971 when safety concerns lead to the Grand Prix moving permanently to Mosport. In 1978 the Canadian Grand Prix moved to its current home on Ile Notre-Dame in Montreal.

The Canadian Grand Prix is the most watched Formula 1 Auto Race in the world. In 2005, the race was the third most watched sporting event on the planet.

 
 
 

The Casino de Montréal is a casino located on the Ile Notre-Dame in Montreal. The casino consists of three buildings. Two of these, the French Pavilion and the Quebec Pavilion, were built for Expo 67. The third building is an annex built by the casino. The main building has five floors. There are over 3200 slot machines and over 120 gaming tables in the casino.

The casino is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to patrons aged 18 and older. It has been a non-smoking casino since July 2003, and the former smoking lounges were closed in May 2006 with the passing of a new provincial law.
